MINSK, 2 November (BelTA) – A powerful earthquake hit the Aegean Sea, 19 km northwest of the Greek island of Samos on 30 October, and was felt in Athens and Istanbul. The tremors caused the collapse of more than 20 houses and buildings in Izmir, and the destruction in the Greek city of Neon Karlovasi. According to the latest data, the earthquake left at least 83 people dead and more than 1,000 injured. It is Turkey's deadliest earthquake since 2011. Then more than 500 people were killed off the city of Van, according to Reuters.
