About 300 people participate in the international chess tournament Orsha 2024

ORSHA, 25 January (BelTA) – About 300 athletes from six countries are taking part in the 22nd international chess tournament Orsha 2024, BelTA has learned.

The tournament is taking place in the Ice Arena and will last till 28 January. The tournament’s Chief Judge Anatoly Lebedev explained: “The tournament has gathered about 300 participants from six countries. Half of them are Belarusians. There are also many participants from Russia. There are representatives of Kazakhstan, Germany, and other countries. The age groups begin with 5 years and end with 60+. A total of 11 teams are present at the tournament.”

The tournament has been organized by the Belarusian Chess Federation, the republican center for the Olympic training in chess and checkers, and the Orsha District Executive Committee.
