MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) - The 10th anniversary meeting of the twin towns of Belarus and Russia will be held in Zhodino, Belarus on 7-8 October, BelTA has learned.
The preparations for the event were discussed at a meeting of the Belarusian public organization Twin Towns. The upcoming meeting will be themed around "Twinning as an important tool to strengthen the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the unity of peoples".
Boris Batura, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Public Organization Twin Towns, Chairman of the Council of Elders at the Presidium of the Council of the Republic, hailed the importance of the twinning movement with Russia, which has a great history and good results. The participants of the Belarusian-Russian meeting will share their experience of cooperation, in economy, social, cultural and educational matters. Cities-partners will present the most interesting and effective projects they have implemented jointly.
The previous meeting of the twin towns of Belarus and Russia was held in Mogilev in March 2017. It brought together about 150 people.
