Yermolovich: EAEU can considerably increase mutual participation in public procurement

 MOSCOW, 10 April (BelTA) - Maksim Yermolovich, member of the Board (Minister) for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), and Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov have reviewed mutual participation of the Eurasian Economic Union countries in public procurement, BelTA learned from the EEC press service.

“It is important to analyze the reasons and factors influencing mutual participation in public procurement in order to understand where the EEC together with the countries needs to search for more effective mechanisms,” Maksim Yermolovich said.

In his words, the EAEU has a significant potential to increase the participation of goods or suppliers of one member state in public procurement programs of another member state. For this purpose the EEC is conducting the appropriate analysis and working to level off problematic issues related to access to public procurement.

“The Ministry of Finance of Russia is ready to make its contribution to the development of a single market of goods, works, services in conducing public procurement in the EAEU,” Anton Siluanov said.

The parties also discuss other issues related to the public procurement in the EAEU.
