MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) - The Belarusian economy shows a steady growth every quarter, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Aleksandr Yegorov said on the air of the First News TV Channel, BelTA learned.

According to him, the beginning of the year is an important time for economic growth. “The GDP figures for January 2025 indicate that the economy continues to grow. What is important, we examined GDP growth not in the traditional way. We compared figures on a quarterly basis: fourth quarter compared to third, third - to second, and so on. This approach helps us to account for the seasonality, which can affect how certain goods are sold throughout the year. By removing seasonality from the equation, we can more accurately assess how the economy is truly performing. The data show that there are no significant fluctuations in economic activity,” Aleksandr Yegorov stated.

The Belarusian economy grows steadily every quarter, he emphasized. “Therefore, we are optimistic about 2025. The growth of the economy quarter to quarter manifests a deeper and more complex process. Then it will be harder for the economy to slow down. Even if the economy does begin to slow down, we will notice it in real GDP only, let's say, in a year,” he explained.

The GDP grew by 3.7% in January, and this shows that we have managed to maintain the momentum gained in 2024 and continue it into 2025, he added.
