Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products' exports to China up 2.5 times in January-October 2021

VITEBSK, 6 December (BelTA) - The enterprises of the state association Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products increased their exports to the Chinese market by 2.5 times in January-October 2021, BelTA learned from the company.

More than $11 million worth of goods was shipped to China in January-October 2021. Seven companies of the Vitebsk state association have been certified to supply all dairy products, frozen beef and beef products to the Chinese market. Postavy Dairy Plant was included in the list of accredited suppliers in 2021. The Chinese market is attractive not only due to its capacity but also due to favorable market conditions. Thanks to these factors, Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products plans to expand cooperation with China through both increasing the volume of supplies and expanding the range of products supplied, experts said.

In general, organizations of the state association have been cooperating with partners from more than 50 countries. The average annual volume of deliveries to foreign markets exceeds $200 million. Meat and milk processing enterprises are export-oriented. A large share is taken by cheese, as well as canned milk, whole-milk products, animal butter, skimmed milk powder, meat semi-finished products.

The assortment list of products made by the enterprises includes more than 870 items of dairy and more than 1,000 items of meat products. The daily volume of milk processing is about 2,400 tonnes of raw materials. The basis of meat product exports is formed by beef and beef products. Beef organizations can process about 58,000 tonnes of beef per year. Currently, the Vitebsk state association is implementing two investment projects aimed at increasing beef processing capacity, which will expand the export potential of the association.

Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products is one of Belarus' largest associations of producers of meat and dairy, flour and cereals, fruit and vegetable, bakery and confectionery products, mixed fodder, premixes, and canned fish. Its structure comprises 142 economic entities, including nine dairy companies, four meat processing plants, three poultry farms, 111 agricultural organizations. The state association coordinates the work of seven agro-industrial associations created under Decree No.70 “On the development of the agro-industrial complex of Vitebsk Oblast”.
