VITEBSK, 5 July (BelTA) – The state industrial group Vitebsk Construction Directorate intends to start offering civil engineering services in Russia's Pskov Oblast, the enterprise's Director General Aleksei Gaponenko told BelTA.
OAO Pskovzhilstroi, one of the largest real estate developers in Pskov Oblast, has invited the Vitebsk-based enterprise to consider participation in building four facilities in Pskov as a pilot project. The Belarusian enterprise is now evaluating the economic aspects of the projects, ways to improve the competitive ability of services, and is busy forming the most profitable export product for entering the Pskov Oblast market. Aleksei Gaponenko said: “The Russian region prefers cooperation with major civil engineering companies. Russian colleagues are interested in the potential of our industrial group. Considering the development of interregional interaction between the administrations of the two regions, we see favorable grounds for negotiations about a strategic partnership.”
In particular, the Vitebsk-based enterprise may participate in the implementation of several federal programs in Pskov Oblast. The programs provide for building welfare homes for some categories of the population and homes for people to resettle to. Apart from that, the Vitebsk enterprise could participate in building a residential estate with the relevant infrastructure in the city of Velikiye Luki, which is a major trade and industrial hub in Pskov Oblast.
The relevant agreements were reached during a recent visit of the Belarusian enterprise's director general to Pskov Oblast as part of an official delegation of Vitebsk Oblast. The visit was organized in response to the Pskov Oblast governor's visit to Vitebsk in September 2020. In early 2021 as part of preparations for the 8th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee and the Pskov Oblast administration approved an action plan for the period of 2021-2023 in furtherance of the agreement on advancing cooperation between the regional executive bodies, which was signed in September 2015.
The state industrial group Vitebsk Construction Directorate was established by the Vitebsk Oblast administration in April 2018 to take care of the overall management of municipal construction enterprises, present their interests, and develop the export of construction services. At present the industrial group comprises 14 organizations that employ over 3,600 people. It allows the enterprise to sign major construction contracts, including turn-key construction ones.
