MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – Vegetables have been planted on 26.6% of the designated area in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Spring crops were sown on 928,100 hectares, which is 39.2% of the plan. Early spring grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat and millet) were planted on an area of 547,000 hectares, which is 88.8% of the target.
Spring rapeseed was planted on an area of 15,100 hectares, which is 24.5% of the target. Sugar beet was planted on 83,700 hectares (81.1%), maize on 122,600 hectares (10.01%), potatoes on 1,710 hectares (10.22%), vegetables on 1,340 hectares (26.6%).
Annual grasses were planted on 110,700 hectares, which is 50.4% of the plan. Flax was sown on an area of 31,100 hectares, which is 62.9% of the plan.
