
MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – The UK suspends the convention on avoiding double taxation with Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Taxes and Duties Ministry.
“Belarus has been informed by note of the decision of the British side to suspend the convention between the governments of Belarus and the UK on the elimination of double taxation in respect of taxes on income and capital and the prevention of tax evasion. The convention was signed in Minsk on 26 September 2017,” the ministry said.
The UK suspends the convention in full from 1 April 2025 in respect of corporate tax and from 6 April 2025 in respect of taxes on income and capital gains.
Accordingly, the provisions of the convention shall not apply to income accrued (paid) from 6 April 2025, as well as to profits for periods beginning from 1 April 2025.
