MOSCOW, 11 November (BelTA) - The 17th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum will be held in Ras al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates on 5-6 December, BelTA learned from the organizers.
The event, which traditionally brings together politicians, experts, diplomats, heads of major companies and journalists from the West and East, has been held in Verona, Italy, for 14 years, even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, given the geopolitical realities the organizers were forced to change the traditional venue of the forum. In 2022, it moved outside Italy to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Then the event was hosted by the Uzbek city of Samarkand. This year, the organizer, the Italian non-profit association Conoscere Eurasia, with the support of the Roscongress Foundation and the UAE Chamber of Commerce and Industry, chose Ras Al Khaimah as the venue.
"For the 17th year in a row, the forum will offer excellent conditions for free communication, business contacts and discussions between business representatives of the countries of Greater Eurasia. This is a unique international event that, in today's difficult conditions, creates an opportunity for dialogue between entrepreneurs from the Atlantic to the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Ras al-Khaimah was chosen as the venue this year, taking into account the interest of the UAE and the growing inernational influence of the country which joined the BRICS in 2024," said Antonio Fallico, President of the Conoscere Eurasia Association.
The event is aimed at developing an open multilateral dialogue and equal cooperation in Greater Eurasia. An important task is to expand the investment, industrial, trade and technological opportunities of this space. The forum will discuss the prospects for cooperation in energy, industry, finance, technology, transport, and agriculture.
