MOGILEV, 29 November (BelTA) – A delegation of Media Village Company from the United Arab Emirates will come to Mogilev District on 30 November on a business trip, BelTA learned from Deputy Chairwoman of the Mogilev District Executive Committee Irina Chindo.
While in Belarus the delegation is expected to hold negotiations to discuss the main avenues of cooperation. Members of the delegation will visit an investment site intended for building a motorway service outlet in the agrotown of Polykovichi and the private enterprise Gazosilikat Mogilev. Members of the delegation are also expected to get familiar with places of cultural and historical interest.
“In January-September 2019 Mogilev District's merchandise export to the UAE totaled $1.3 million. We are interested in increasing this figure,” the deputy head of the Mogilev District administration noted. “There is a strong demand on foreign markets for our furniture and woodworking products, gas silicate bricks, metal goods, agricultural products, and many other locally made products.”
The official said that Mogilev District enterprises export their products to over 65 countries, with the annual export volume in excess of $460 million.
“There is no doubt we are interested in welcoming investors since they bring new jobs, new financial infusions, and many other positive factors. Since the beginning of the year the amount of foreign direct investments the district has received is $4.7 million,” Irina Chindo concluded.
