Turchin, Mishustin meet in Russia’s Gorno-Altaysk

GORNO-ALTAYSK, 24 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin held a bilateral meeting in Gorno-Altaysk, Russia’s Republic of Altai, BelTA learned.

Aleksandr Turchin thanked his Russian counterpart for the invitation to take part in the international conference on ecology and environmental protection, which is running in Gorno-Altaysk these days.

The Belarusian prime minister also noted that despite all difficulties, Russia's economy demonstrates remarkable stability.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin asked Aleksandr Turchin to convey warm greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin and himself to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.

During the talks, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized his constant communication with Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin: “We've spoken several times just in the past two weeks. At the government level, in my view, we've established systemic work to implement the decisions made by our leaders. This work is primarily structured around key priorities to fulfill the Union State Treaty for 2024-2026,” Mikhail Mishustin stated.

"Despite the unprecedented sanctions pressure from the collective West, our economic cooperation continues to gain momentum,” the Russian prime minister said.

In response, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin emphasized that frequent high-level contacts are yielding tangible results: "I am satisfied with the intensity and productivity of our work," Aleksandr Turchin said.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted that over 90% of settlements between Russia and Belarus are now conducted in national currencies. "This approach helps protect our trade and investments from negative external market trends. Importantly, we are prioritizing the industrial cooperation between our countries and the industrial policy of the Union State and I want to thank you for this. We have established full equivalence between Russian and Belarusian manufactured goods," the Russian head of government added.

The meeting focused on the issues that are pressing today. In particular, the prime ministers noted the need to intensify the work on the digital agenda.
