MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – In the past three years, the volume of transit goods shipped through the Belarusian border increased by almost 7%, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee.
“In 2020, more than 2.3 million freight vehicles crossed the Belarusian border, which was up by 5% over 2018. The volume of goods transported by road reached almost 30 million tonnes, up by 5.9% over 2018. In the past three years, transit of goods by road rose by 7%,” the committee said.
The increase in transit traffic and freight was possible thanks to optimization of border crossing procedures and implementation of information and technological projects in association with businesses. This has improved Belarus' transit appeal.
