MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Training laboratories have been opened at the Resource Center EcoTehnoPark Volma of the Republican Institute of Vocational Education in Dzerzhinsk District. The opening ceremony was attended by Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas, BelTA has learned.
The prime minister toured the educational building of the resource center. “In our country, there are about 45 resource centers for various types of economic activity. But in the field of energy this resource center is the only one. The laboratories are fitted with training equipment running on traditional and renewable sources of energy. The center is expected to train students of vocational schools, specialized secondary and higher education institutions. Every object in the resource center is kitted out with electricity, heat control equipment. It is a kind of smart, energy-efficient district that is run with the help of modern software products,” Rector of the Republican Institute of Vocational Education Valery Golubovsky said.
Sergei Rumas and Head of the EU Delegation to Belarus Andrea Wiktorin unveiled a sign reading “Interdisciplinary Resource Center EcoTehnoPark Volma has been equipped with the support of the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the European Union.”
“The budget of the project is €11.5 million. We are still in the process of its implementation. We also support the establishment of six such centers. We seek to assist the development of vocational education because it is very important for the economy,” Andrea Wiktorin said.
The Resource Center EcoTehnoPark Volma of the Republican Institute of Vocational Education was established in 2016. It has been registered as a technology transfer center. The Resource Center is intended to implement educational programs with the use of modern equipment and energy-saving technologies, to provide vocational training to people of different age groups and to conduct research in the field of energy, energy efficiency and environment.
