Trade between Belarus’ Gomel Oblast, Russia's Bryansk Oblast up by 12% in 2024

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) - In 2024 mutual trade between Gomel Oblast and Bryansk Oblast of Russia grew by 12% year-on-year, Gomel Oblast Governor Ivan Krupko said at a meeting with Bryansk Oblast Governor Alexander Bogomaz during the visit of the Gomel delegation to Bryansk Oblast, BelTA learned.

“We traditionally start our new working year with a meeting on the Bryansk land. Our partnership is developing at a rapid pace. We have already seen some results. Mutual trade grew by 12% last year. Over the last three years, it surged by 59%,” Ivan Krupko stated.

Alexander Bogomaz emphasized that the work between the regions is underway. “Our friendship is also getting stronger; we are implementing joint social programs. I am confident that cooperation between us will further gain momentum,” he said.

The parties discussed construction and development of industrial enterprises, establishing humanitarian ties and business partnership and also outlined plans for 2025.
