Timofti: With EU agreement Moldova will not turn its back on traditional markets

CHISINAU, 25 September (BelTA) – The signing of the EU association agreement by Moldova does not mean the country will forget about its traditional markets, President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti told media after his talks with Belarusian head of state Alexander Lukashenko in Chisinau on 24 September, BelTA has learned.

According to Nicolae Timofti, Moldova has been coming through certain problems artificially created. At the same time he stressed that there have never been any problems with Belarus.

“Russia and other CIS countries have good relations with the EU states. I am confident that we will find mechanisms to make our relations with Belarus and Russia better,” the President of Moldova said. He added that the main thing for the parties is to have readiness to meet each other halfway and do not create artificial barriers.

Nicolae Timofti is confident that Moldova can observe every condition of the EU association agreement and simultaneously cooperate with other states.
