MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) - The CIS Quality Excellence awards to the heads of the winning companies were presented by Chairman of the Belarusian State Committee for Standardization Valentin Tataritsky in a ceremony in Minsk on 22 December, BelTA has learned.
The winners include the BMZ steel mill, OAO Torgmash (Baranovichi), and Dzerzhinsky Agrokombinat. The Novogrudok Gas Equipment Plant has been named diploma winner.
The companies have been honored for the production of high-quality and competitive goods, increasing export, assimilating highly-effective quality management methods, creating a high reputation of CIS producers both in the CIS market and abroad, Valentin Tataritsky said. The Belarusian winners of 2019 supply more than 80% of their output abroad.
"In today's challenging environment, aggressive global competition, rapid change of technologies and greatly reduced time-to-market, quality has become the determining factor of sustainable development of the economy of each country and its economic entities," Valentin Tataritsky noted.
He noted that the pandemic clearly showed that the risk-oriented approach to management is the right one as it helps tackle crisis situations faster and find new growth points.
"Only companies with flexible development strategies can be leaders in the CIS today. Today's winners are the examples of how to successfully solve the problems," said Valentin Tataritsky.
The awards ceremonies were held in other CIS countries and were connected by a video link.
The CIS Quality Excellence Award is presented every two years. The criteria to choose the winners have been harmonized with the European business excellence model most popular in Europe and CIS countries, taking into account current trends and values in this area.
Belarusian enterprises are regular participants in the CIS Quality Excellence Award competitions. Since 2006, twelve organizations have won the competition, 21 organizations have been recognized as diploma winers. All in all, the CIS has held seven quality excellence competitions bringing together over 140 companies since 2006. A total of 56 Belarusian enterprises have participated in them.
