Tentative plans for Belarus-Uzbekistan blood processing joint venture

MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – Belarus invites Uzbekistan to build a joint venture to process blood, the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry press service told BelTA.

A delegation of the Healthcare Ministry led by Deputy Healthcare Minister Boris Androsyuk took part in a presentation of the investment project envisaging the construction of a blood processing enterprise in Uzbekistan.

The presentation was arranged by Director of the National Applied Science Center for Transfusiology and Medical Biotechnologies Fyodor Karpenko.

Apart from that, the Belarusian pharmaceutical companies Minskintercaps and Ekzon signed bilateral agreements on supplying Belarusian products with Uzbekistan's largest distributors.

A Belarusian government delegation led by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko is in Uzbekistan right now. The delegation includes Deputy Healthcare Minister Boris Androsyuk and representatives of the managing company of the holding company Belpharmprom and pharmaceutical enterprises of the holding company. Representatives of the Belarusian healthcare industry are expected to talk to their colleagues to discuss projects for manufacturing of antibiotics, which are not made in Uzbekistan, and the production of Belarusian medications using the available manufacturing facilities.
