Tanzanian PM tours Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ

MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) - A delegation from the United Republic of Tanzania led by Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa Majaliwa visited Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) in the Belarusian capital on 22 July, BelTA learned.

The outdoor exhibition showcases the machines made by MTZ and other major Belarusian industrial enterprises. The guests were shown the full model range of BELARUS tractors, Amkodor and MAZ machines and also the equipment manufactured by Lidagroprommash, Bobruiskagromash, and Lidselmash and provided with detailed explanations of their competitive advantages. The program also included a tour of the MTZ museum. The parties discussed potential avenues for future cooperation.
“The company already cooperates with Tanzania,” MTZ Director General Sergei Avramenko told the media following the visit.

"In recent years, we have delivered about 140 units to Tanzania. Given that both MTZ and all industrial enterprises of the country have not only modernized but also expanded their model ranges, the guests showed a genuine interest in our new offerings, including tractor attachments, MAZ vehicles, and AMKODOR machinery. I believe this cooperation will soon translate into commercial contracts, reaffirming that Belarusian equipment is not just competitive but fully meets our customers' needs,” Sergei Avramenko noted.

Sergei vramenko emphasized that MTZ has built its logistics network for African deliveries: "While occasional challenges emerge, we have developed effective solutions to overcome them."

“We offer customized product offerings for each country of the continent based on farmland size, crop types, local agricultural conditions. We see demand for all kinds of equipment: both for mini-tractors and walk-behind tractors and also for heavy-duty tractors (up to 350hp).  Tanzania's preferred range is 80-150hp machinery considering its local farming needs,” he noted.
The display was specifically tailored for the needs of the countries of the African continent, with which the company has been cooperating for a very long time. New technologies that may be of interest to partners from Tanzania were also presented.
