MINSK, 21 October (BelTA) - Tajikistan is interested in developing cooperation with Belarus in light industry, Tajikistan's Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir said at a meeting with head of the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom Tatiana Lugina in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
"Our states enjoy good, long-lasting relations. This means that we can implement all the plans quickly. Tajikistan is the largest producer of cotton, and this raw material is necessary for the textile industry of Belarus. Taking into account the raw material capabilities of our country and the technological capabilities of Belarus, we can establish cooperation very quickly and efficiently," Sherali Kabir said.
The light industry is one of the key sectors in Tajikistan's development strategy. Tajikistan partner expressed an interest in the Belarusian experience of in-depth processing of cotton, wool and leather raw materials.
The meeting was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Belarus.
