Strong interest of Russian private sector in China-Belarus industrial park noted

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – The Russian private sector demonstrates strong interest in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, BelTA learned from First Deputy Director General of SZAO Industrial Park Development Company Kirill Koroteyev.

Kirill Koroteyev said: “We see huge interest on the part of the Russian private sector, business and government circles of Russia in the industrial park. We hold meetings with Russian delegations virtually every day.”

In his words, as an industrial and investment platform Belarus was rather competitive on the European market considering prices for energy resources and local salaries. “Now taking into account the complicated foreign economic and political situation we are intent on turning towards the Russian market and we already see response. Together with Russian businessmen we develop projects concerning unmanned aerial vehicles, helicopter construction, projects in the area of fine chemistry. On the whole, we endeavor to create a broad range of interaction,” he noted.

Kirill Koroteyev added: “There are several Russian resident companies in the park. They specialize in making veterinary medications, medical products and in R&D in the area of electric transmission drives for transport and new materials. On the whole, the potential for interaction between the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone and the Russian Federation is rather large. We are intent on actively advancing our cooperation.”

The China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone is a special economic zone with a special legal regime. It is located 25km away from Minsk. The park's priority development areas include mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunications, biotechnologies, pharmaceutics, new materials, logistics, digital commerce, big data storage and processing.
