Steady economy secures outstripping growth of earnings of Belarusians

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Steady work of the economy secures the outstripping growth of earnings of the population, the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry told BelTA.

The National Statistical Committee reported earlier that the GDP growth rate in January-August 2025 totaled 101.6%. Civil engineering (110.6%) and information and communication (104.1%) are the leading industries in terms of their contribution and the growth rate of the gross added value. Over 2.3 million m2 of housing was commissioned in January-August 2025, 110.7% as against the same period of last year. Dynamics in the IT industry is driven by the rising number of orders for Belarusian software to satisfy domestic demand.

Apart from that, a certain decrease is observed in growth rates in manufacturing branches. The manufactured products are in demand inside the country and abroad. The export of goods and services in January-July was 1.2% above the figure registered in January-July 2024. Deliveries to remote countries are increasing. As a result, the stock in storage keeps falling: the figure has dropped by 0.7 percentage points from 1 August.

Agricultural output grew by 12.4 percentage points in comparison with the same period of last year. The seasonal decrease in prices for fruits and vegetables helped slow down the annual inflation in August to 7.2%.

The steady operation of the economy allows the level of earnings of Belarusians to rise: plus 10% in January-July 2025. Wages exceeded Br2,600 in January-July 2025. The average size of retirement pensions reached Br921.
