MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – Spring rapeseed has been sown on 15.7% of the designated area in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Spring crops were sown on 771,600 hectares, which is 32.6% of the plan. Early spring grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat and millet) were planted on an area of 527,600 hectares, which is 85.7% of the plan.
Spring rapeseed was planted on an area of 9,690 hectares, which is 15.7% of the target. Sugar beet was planted on 60,500 hectares (58.7%), maize on 41,200 hectares (3.36%), potatoes on 730 hectares (4.38%), vegetables on 780 hectares (15.5%).
Annual grasses were planted on 91,600 hectares, which is 41.7% of the plan. Flax was sown on an area of 25,100 hectares, which is 50.6% of the plan. Some 1,000,900 hectares of land was prepared for sowing early spring crops, which is 42.3% of the target.
