Some investors agree to take rubles as dividends on Belarusian eurobonds

MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – Some investors have agreed to take Belarusian rubles as payments on Belarus' eurobonds, BelTA learned from Belarusian Finance Minister Yuri Seliverstov.

Yuri Seliverstov remarked that some investors have agreed to payments in rubles on Belarusian eurobonds. “Such transactions happen on the market but we don't really try to rush ahead of ourselves. Because we work with those those, who are in friendly jurisdictions, with those, who can transfer these bonds to accounts of the Finance Ministry or our partners in the banking system,” he said.

In his words, the next year's state budget will appropriate about Br12 billion for paying off the external state debt. “We intend to pay it off in Russian rubles, Chinese yuans, and Belarusian rubles until the restrictions are lifted,” the official said.
