MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – The modernization of enterprises of the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom has allowed creating about 5,000 new jobs, the concern's press service told BelTA.
According to the source, Bellesbumprom enterprises are operating steadily despite the coronavirus pandemic. They manage to hit all the social and economic development targets. All the Bellesbumprom enterprises, which have implemented investment projects to modernize and set up new manufacturing facilities, make full payments on loans to the central state budget and banks. Their performance allows steadily raising salaries of the workers. In January-September 2021 the real average monthly salary at Bellesbumprom enterprises rose by more than 16% to Br1,279.
Over the years of modernization Bellesbumprom enterprises created about 5,000 new jobs. Most of the jobs were created thanks to the construction of new manufacturing facilities. The plant to make coated and uncoated pasteboard as part of the Dobrush-based paper mill Geroy Truda is one of the latest examples. The new manufacturing division already employs 509 people and another 40 vacancies are still open. Most of the jobs are high-tech and require special training, knowledge, and experience. These jobs come with appropriate salaries. For instance, machine operators in the bleached chemical-thermomechanical pulping shop get over Br1,600, leading process engineers get Br2,200-2,300 while executive personnel are paid nearly Br3,000.
Company housing is a great advantage of the new enterprise in Dobrush. Two comfortable halls of residence for the personnel were built in the course of realization of the investment project. This is why specialists from other regions, who are interested in working here, will have no problems with housing. Those workers, who live in Gomel, can take a free bus to reach the enterprise.
The same approach to personnel is used by the newly built sulfated bleached pulp enterprise of OAO Svetlogorsk Pulp and Board Mill. That enterprise also offers a large hall of residence where many local specialists live. The enterprise employs over 2,000 people. The monthly salary averages at Br1,780.
The Bellesbumprom press service noted that in January-August 2021 the concern's enterprises increased output by over 11% in comparable prices, with export up by 45% to $609 million.
