MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov named tasks for newly appointed Minister of Communications and Informatization Kirill Zalessky during his official introduction to the staff of the ministry, BelTA has learned.
According to Nikolai Snopkov, the communications sector needs someone with a professional and fresh look at the situation. It is very useful to have a knowledgeable person with a slightly different way of thinking. “An outside perspective is very important. The president set the task - digitalization not for the sake of digitalization, but where it is needed. Therefore, the ministry and the new minister will need to prioritize these tasks; KPI plans will be made for them like they do it in the IT sector,” he said.
Nikolai Snopkov recalled another important task for the ministry - to make high-speed Internet available in all corners of Belarus. “The minister should take this matter under control and keep tabs on it. Let's start with simple things and then see what else we should do,” he said.
