MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – The Minsk Oblast energy company Minskenergo and the Swedish company Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB signed a gas turbines supply contract on 24 December following an open tender, BelTA learned from Minskenergo.
The contract was signed by the heads of the Minskenergo and Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB. The event was also attended by Sweden's Ambassador to Belarus Christina Johannesson.
Building gas turbines at the Minskenergo energy facilities is part of a set of measures to integrate the Belarusian nuclear power plant into the national power grid. Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB is one of the largest suppliers of equipment for the energy sector and industrial enterprises of Belarus and has considerable experience in cooperating with the country in terms of maintenance and participation in power grid modernization projects.
Minskenergo put a great deal of effort into selecting a reliable supplier of equipment for these facilities. The contract involves supply of gas turbines and also provision of related services.
