MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) - The Belarusian delegation, led by Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev, wrapped up the first Minsk Day with a big business forum in Russia’s Kazan. The business event ended up with seven agreements and contracts signed in different areas, from digital technology to agribusiness, BelTA learned from the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).
The Belarusian delegation comprised heads and specialists of more than 20 enterprises. Over 100 participants from Kazan attended the business forum and took part in bilateral negotiations.
The Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a business forum, Minsk and Kazan: Twinning as a New Driver for Development. According to Sergei Nabeshko, Director General of the Minsk branch of the BelCCI, Minsk and Kazan are linked not only by cooperation, but a 28-year-long partnership. “Since 1997, we have been learning from each other, exchanging experience, developing joint projects. In December 2024, our friendship reached a new level: a twinning agreement was signed to add Kazan as the 37th city to this honorable list. This is not just a number, but a symbol: Minsk is open to the world, but values its time-tested partners. Today's forum is a logical continuation of this story. We are here to turn this twinning relationship into a working tool for the economy, culture, and technology. The goal of this event is not just to exchange business cards, but to launch specific projects,” he emphasized.
The forum became a platform for strategic discussion on the development of interregional cooperation, digital transformation of the economy, and the implementation of joint investment projects.
The Belarusian delegation visited key organizations and enterprises in Kazan, including the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan and the IT Park. The day will be wrapped up with a theatrical and musical project “The Beauty of the Belarusian Land”, which will be attended by Kazan's leadership, the city’s residents and visitors.
In addition to the business program, the Minsk Days in Kazan will feature cultural and sporting events: a football match between students from sports schools in Minsk and Kazan, and a photo exhibition “Reborn from the Ruins” at the Saidash Cultural Center. On 10-15 June, the Kazan Agro-Industrial Park will host a fair of Belarusian goods, featuring food, textiles, and equipment from Belarusian manufacturers.
