MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – Second grass has been cut on 69.8% of the designated area in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
First grass was cut on the area of 1,250,000 hectares (89%) and removed from the area of 1,156,500 hectares, which is 92.5% of the grass cut. Second grass was cut on the area of 91,100 hectares and removed from the area of 63,600 hectares, which is 69.8% of the grass cut.
Belarus harvested 6,604,000 tonnes of haylage (49.6%), 114,100 tonnes of hay (16.3%), and 211,400 tonnes of silage (1.03%).
There are plans to harvest over 9.8 million tonnes of grass fodder this year; at the moment 19.9% of the plan has been fulfilled. There are plans to procure over 20.5 million tonnes of silage, 13.3 million tonnes of haylage, and 700,400 tonnes of hay.
