Russia’s Ufa hosts Minsk Days

 MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) - Minsk Days are taking place in Ufa, Russia’s Bashkortostan on 11-12 June. It is a large-scale event combining business, cultural, and humanitarian programs. The central event was the business forum “Minsk and Ufa: Twinning - a New Driver of Development”, which brought together representatives of the authorities and business communities of the two cities to discuss prospects for cooperation and exchange of experience, BelTA learned from the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).

The forum was organized by the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and moderated by Sergei Nabeshko, Director General of BelCCI’s Minsk branch. “The twinning relations between Minsk and Ufa are becoming not only a symbol of friendship, but also a real tool for launching new joint projects, exchanging experience, and expanding economic horizons,” he said.

Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev and Ratmir Mavliev, Head of the Ufa Urban District Administration of the Republic of Bashkortostan delivered welcome remarks. The heads of both cities noted the importance of strengthening interregional cooperation, emphasizing that the partnership between the cities goes beyond economic matters and touches on the social sector, culture, and education.

The plenary session of the business forum served as a platform to discuss strategic vectors for the development of partnership between Minsk and Ufa. The focus was on topics reflecting contemporary challenges and opportunities for deepening bilateral ties. Forum participants emphasized the significant role of business support institutions in forming sustainable economic relations between cities. Particular emphasis was placed on the modernization of industrial areas, where traditional production sites are being transformed into modern innovation centers capable of attracting investment and creating new jobs.

The forum saw a number of ceremonies to sign cooperation agreements between enterprises and organizations of the two cities. The Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The document opens up new opportunities for strengthening business ties and expanding economic cooperation between the regions.

After the plenary session, the delegations continued their work at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Bashkortostan, which hosted bilateral negotiations between Belarusian and Ufa companies. This helped participants not only discuss promising projects, but also finalize agreements on joint activities aimed at developing mutually beneficial cooperation, and also sign a number of contracts.
