MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Cement Company is busy stepping up cooperation with the Republic of Khakassia, Russian Federation. As a Belarusian delegation visited the Siberian Federal District an agreement was reached on periodical deliveries of coal to Belarusian cement mills, the press service of the Belarusian Architecture and Construction Ministry told BelTA.

According to the source, the managing company of the holding company Belarusian Cement Company already cooperates with Khakassia’s coal-mining companies but is interested in buying more coal from this region.

The negotiations resulted in an agreement on promptly taking measures to ensure the weekly loading of about four railway trains with coal from Khakassia from November 2024 through January 2025. It will give the Belarusian cement mills as much coal as they need.

It was emphasized that Belarusian Cement Company is interested in buying other mineral resources for the Belarusian cement mills in Khakassia, for instance, iron ore. The possibility of extracting gypsum in Khakassia open pits is also under consideration.
