Russia’s Primorye Territory to increase Belarusian machinery imports in 2026

MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) - Russia’s Primorye Territory will increase the imports of Belarusian machinery next year, Primorye Territory Governor Oleg Kozhemyako said during a meeting with Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko on 3 June, BelTA has learned.

As for joint economic projects with Belarus, representatives of Primorye Territory are working closely with enterprise leaders and ministries of Belarus. "The volume of delivered machinery is growing. In January-April 2025, we purchased 85 units and plan to acquire around 130 more. We have already finalized supply agreements and plans. We have also adjusted our strategy for next year to further increase procurement, including the purchase of ambulances," Oleg Kozhemyako stated.

He also highlighted the cooperation in the food sector, as Primorye Territory imports food products from Belarus and exports certain goods to Belarus as well. "It is a mutually beneficial exchange," the governor emphasized.
He noted that the parties are currently discussing the establishment of demonstration sites where Belarusian machinery, including agricultural equipment and MAZ models, could be showcased. "I believe this will be an excellent platform to meet the needs of the Far Eastern region," Oleg Kozhemyako said. "People should have a choice, and undoubtedly, most will opt for Belarusian machinery because of its reliability, convenience, and service support."
Belarus and Primorye Territory continue to expand their trade and economic cooperation, particularly in manufacturing industry and agriculture. However, Oleg Kozhemyako emphasized that the parties are increasingly focusing on cultural and sports cooperation, which plays a key role in strengthening ties between the peoples of Belarus and Russia.
Following the meeting, two key agreements were signed: an agreement between the Brest Oblast Executive Committee and the Government of Primorye Territory on trade, economic, social, humanitarian, and cultural cooperation, and a cooperation agreement between the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex and the Vladimir Arseniev Museum of Far East History.
