Russia’s Natsproyektstroy seeks cooperation with Belarusian commodity exchange

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) - Natsproyektstroy Group, which is one of Russia’s largest construction holding companies, has expressed interest in cooperation with the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) in the implementation of infrastructure projects, Deputy Head of Foreign Economic Relations at BUCE German Puzyrny told the media following a meeting with a delegation of the Natsproyectstroy Group in Minsk. The talks were organized under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

The matter pertains to the possible use of exchange trading to purchase materials, equipment and machinery as part of the construction of transportation and energy infrastructure facilities. Here, not only Belarusian and Russian enterprises, but also companies from other countries accredited by BUCE will be able to act as suppliers.

“Representatives of the Russian holding company got attracted by the experience of using exchange trading in Belarus during the construction of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant and the Palace of Independence, reconstruction of the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk, repair of bridges and overpasses, construction of new stations of the Minsk metro and other landmark facilities. In all of these examples, the exchange mechanism ensured objective selection of suppliers, transparency of pricing and reduction of the risk of non-fulfillment of obligations under the concluded contracts. For Natsproyektstroy Group these points are of significant importance,” German Puzyrny said.

According to the BUCE representative, one of the areas of cooperation with Natsoproyektstroy can be the purchase of cellular concrete blocks produced by the Belarusian Cement Company. Since export exchange trading of these products is held on BUCE on a regular basis, and the seller is a direct manufacturer, the exchange will guarantee regular supplies and high-quality goods. According to BUCE, in January-April 2025, a total of 257,000 cubic meters of cellular concrete wall blocks were sold abroad, 32% up from the same period of 2024. The entire volume was purchased by Russian residents.

Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
