Russia’s Chelyabinsk Oblast  eager to increse trade, advance cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) - Chelyabinsk Oblast is eager to step up trade and advance cooperation with Belarus, Governor of Chelyabinsk Oblast Aleksei Teksler said during talks with Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov in Minsk on 11 August, BelTA learned.

“From the very first moments in Belarus, we've felt truly fraternal hospitality. Thank you sincerely for your warm welcome," Aleksei Teksler stated. “Our delegation includes not only government representatives of Chelyabinsk Oblast but also business leaders. We are currently holding negotiations and I'm confident we'll finalize proposals and sign new contracts.”
Chelyabinsk Oblast is planning to participate in INNOPROM. Belarus international expo. The region will take part in the trade show scheduled for 29 September - 1 October at Minsk International Exhibition Center. The region will send a business delegation to expand cooperation with Belarus.
"Our  leaders have tasked us with deepening industrial cooperation, building up trade and strengthening overall economic ties," the governor emphasized. "We're actively fulfilling this mandate. In recent years, deliveries of Belarusian goods to Chelyabinsk Oblast have grown significantly. This cooperation allows us to replace many imports from unfriendly, distant markets. We share strong mutual interest in continuing this productive work."
Working groups operate on a permanent basis, and active interregional cooperation has been established. "Our region is actively advancing industrial robotics. We both manufacture and implement industrial robots locally. This has become crucial for any technological process. Labor productivity growth is the foundation of economic development today. Several cooperation proposals are on the table, including potential localization of robot production here, in Belarus," Aleksei Teksler stated. "I believe this could become a major new avenue of our partnership. Robotics is a strategic field that will enhance enterprise efficiency across industries."

"However, our cooperation extends beyond economics. While industrial partnerships form the foundation of our collaboration, we're also actively engaged in humanitarian matters, culture and education. We're particularly interested in implementing joint projects in science and academia," the governor added.
