Russia’s Amur Oblast eager to set up center for Belarusian mechanical engineering goods

MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) - Russia’s Amur Oblast is interested in creating a multi-brand center for Belarusian mechanical engineering goods, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Amur Oblast - Minister of Agriculture Oleg Turkov told the media following a joint meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Amur Oblast of the Russian Federation in Minsk on 24 July, BelTA has learned.

“The joint working group held a fruitful meeting. We took stock of our work for the previous year, outlined steps to meet the tasks for the next years. These tasks were set for us by the Belarusian president and the governor of Amur Oblast,” Oleg Turkov said. According to him, there are also specific proposals in all areas that the parties will work to implement, for example, in terms of cultural and sports exchange.
“Tasks have been set to increase the supply of farm machines, equipment for the forestry and mining industries, housing and utility sector. Belarus has a huge potential and opportunities to meet our needs,” Oleg Turkov noted.

According to him, a strategic decision has been made to create a multi-brand center for the sale and maintenance of the entire range of machinery supplied by the Belarusian mechanical engineering companies to Amur Oblast.  “We want to set up a full-fledged trading center that will supply goods without intermediaries not only for the needs of the Russian Far East but also for export to China. I would like to note that Belarus manufactures tasty and organic food products. Let's work together. The prospects for further cooperation are great,” Oleg Turkov added.
