Russia’s Adygea head: We have significant potential to expand cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) - Belarus and the Republic of Adygea (Russian Federation) have considerable potential to enhance business activity, Head of Adygea Murat Kumpilov said during a meeting with Chairman of the Belarusian food industry concern Belgospishcheprom Oleg Zhidkov on 11 June, BelTA learned from Belgospishcheprom.

The meeting discussed key areas of cooperation between Belarus and Adygea: manufacturing industry, agriculture, education, and tourism.

Oleg Zhidkov noted that relations between Belarus and Adygea are positive and dynamic, as reflected not only in joint meetings but also in concrete results. Over the past three years, trade between Belarus and the Russian region has increased by 2.3 times. In 2024, it reached approximately $70 million. "Belarus is ready to cooperate with Adygea across all sectors. I hope our cooperation will contribute to the region’s development and prosperity," he added.

Belarus-Adygea ties in education and culture are also deepening. Four direct agreements between educational institutions of Belarus and Adygea are in place. Belarusian education representatives regularly participate in scientific and practical events hosted by Adygean institutions.

According to Murat Kumpilov, the current visit [of Belarus’ delegation to Adygea] will help develop new joint projects that will provide additional momentum for cooperation between Belarus and Adygea. "Belarus is consistently among Adygea’s major trading partners, and there is considerable potential to further business activity," he concluded.
