SOCHI, 15 September (BelTA) – A part of the Russian loan of $1.5 billion for Belarus will be used to refinance the previously provided loans, Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov told the media after the talks between the two leaders on 14 September, TASS informs.
“The president [Vladimir Putin] talked about it. A new loan, $1.5 billion, has been agreed and will be allocated to Belarus. This loan will be partially used to refinance the previously allocated loans. The rest will serve as new money resources,” the representative of the Kremlin said.
Dmitry Peskov added that the Russian loan for Belarus could not be viewed as Moscow's interference with the affairs of Minsk: “It cannot be interpreted as the interference with domestic affairs. We are absolutely against such things.”
