Russian expert comments on Union State transport infrastructure development

MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – Member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation Ilya Zotov spoke about the plans for further development of the transport infrastructure of the Belarus-Russia Union State in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

In the new geopolitical reality and under unprecedented sanctions pressure, Belarus and Russia are moving towards mutually beneficial cooperation, industrial and trade interaction, which is impossible without the development of transport infrastructure. Not long ago, all COVID-19 restrictions on the border between the two countries were lifted. New flight destinations are under consideration. According to the summer schedule, Belavia has launched flights to Yekaterinburg and Kazan.

“All COVID-19 restrictions between Russia and Belarus have been lifted and Belavia's flight program to various Russian cities will significantly increase. The question which is of interest to many is flights between Belarus and Crimea. We are currently working on the issue, but due to the closure of Russia's southern border we cannot yet name the date for the launch of flights from Belarus to Crimea,” Ilya Zotov said.
