MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) – On 24 July the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) will lift restrictions on the import of Belarus-grown apples under the guarantees of the Main State Inspectorate for Seed Production, Quarantine and Plant Protection of Belarus, BelTA has learned from the website of the Russian service.

The decision was made after Rosselkhoznadzor experts had assessed the production capacities of Belarusian apple growers on 15-20 July.

The Russian specialists inspected 51 Belarusian enterprises. They were provided with information about the area under apple trees, their species and yield. Apart from that, the Russian specialists were informed about Belarus' apple production plans for 2019, availability of fruit storages and storage periods.
