Retail trade up 0.5% in Belarus in January-August 2021

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – In January-August 2021, retail trade totaled Br38.6 billion, or 0.5% as against the same period of 2020 in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the National Statistical Committee of Belarus.

Wholesale trade amounted to Br83.4 billion, or 7% as against January-August 2020. Over this period, one-day per capita retail sales were estimated at Br16.9, vs. Br15.1 in January-August 2020.

Retail trade outlets accounted for 92.4% of retail trade. In January-August 2021, they reported Br35.7 billion in retail trade volume, up 1.3% over the same period of last year in comparable prices.

In January-August 2021, the turnover of the public catering industry totaled Br2.1 billion, up 18.5% over the same period of last year in comparable prices.
