MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – In January-October 2022 domestic rapeseed oil sales in Belarus rose 1.5 times year-on-year, Igor Grutso, the head of domestic sales and foreign trade at the Belarusian food industry concern Belgospishcheprom, told a press conference in Minsk on 9 November, BelTA has learned.
"A little more than two years ago, Belgospishcheprom Concern initiated a campaign to popularize rapeseed oil in Belarus. One of the first steps were made at the Prodexpo food industry expo. An active advertising campaign has contributed to a significant increase in the domestic sales of rapeseed oil. According to the latest data, in January-October 2022 rapeseed oil sales in Belarus rose 1.5 times year-on-year. The growth is more than 10 times over 2020," Igor Grutso said.
Enterprises affiliated with Belgospishcheprom traditionally take part in the Prodexpo fair every year, he noted. This year's event will feature 10 companies of the concern, representing the confectionery, sugar, fat-and-oil and salt industries. According to Igor Grutso, the confectionery factories will offer a wide range of products for tasting.
"Prodexpo caters not only to the domestic market but also foreign markets. The exhibitors will have a chance to hold negotiations with Russian retail chains (this market is the key one for Belgospishcheprom concern). We hope to find new partners and land new orders within the framework of the existing agreements and contracts," Igor Grutso concluded.
