MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Belarus sees not only quantitative growth but also quality growth of entrepreneurship. Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas made the relevant statement during the award ceremony of the national contest Entrepreneur of the Year on 20 November, BelTA has learned.
The head of government said: “Today we see substantial growth of entrepreneurship in Belarus from the point of view of not only quantity but quality, too. I am convinced that further development depends more heavily on the private sector than other ones. We are ready to do our utmost in order to enable the relevant conditions.”
Continuing the head of state's policy in favor of improving business operation terms, the government takes steps to dismantle the excessive administrative barriers that the business community runs into. Licensing requirements have been eased by the relevant presidential decree. Conditions for the operation of innovative infrastructure entities have been improved in order to expand support for entrepreneurs in the spheres of utmost importance for the state. Technology parks can now offer flexible rent options to residents and set up innovative development funds.
“We see a considerable part of the private sector working hard to develop the sphere of services. Accelerated movement in this direction and interests of the private sector will be taken into account as we work out the program on developing the sphere of services in the period till 2025,” the prime minister noted.
Sergei Rumas reminded that the government emphasizes the establishment of a healthy and continuous dialogue between the state and the private sector. “Our conversation proceeds on several platforms at once: in entrepreneurship promotion councils operating under municipal government agencies, in public advisory boards under ministries and on their official websites,” Sergei Rumas concluded.
