Public representatives to help promote Belarusian export

MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – It is important to involve representatives of the general public in the promotion of Belarusian export in other countries, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov.

During a business briefing it was noted that force majeure circumstances are a matter of concern for heads of diplomatic missions now. Ambassadors talked to representatives of enterprises. Over 200 heads of Belarusian enterprises signed up for the meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions.

Representatives of embassies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry talked briefly about public representatives abroad, who are not on the payroll in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry but help advance Belarus' relations with other countries for free, as a rule. “Today we have 39 representatives in 32 countries. Those are like-minded fellows, who are in touch with us and the embassies constantly despite external pressure.”

Addressing the heads of the embassies, Mikhail Myatlikov noted the importance of such representatives for export promotion. He asked the ambassadors to put forward their proposals concerning the selection of candidates at a session of the Presidium of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry that will take place on 24 July.

The official also remarked upon the importance of expos abroad. “A schedule of events for the year 2023 has been prepared. It has been reconciled with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will be soon sent to government agencies for approval. The schedule contains a total of ten expos. We are ready to continue working with embassies for the sake of organizing exhibitions of Belarusian enterprises in other countries. The BelInterExpo enterprise is responsible for it in the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry,” Mikhail Myatlikov said.

Apart from that, Mikhail Myatlikov introduced the new head of the BelInterExpo enterprise Natalya Kurash.

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry teamed up with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to arrange a business briefing for heads of Belarusian diplomatic missions and bilateral negotiations between the heads of diplomatic missions and heads of Belarusian enterprises on 20 July. The briefing focused on cooperation with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. About 50 heads of diplomatic missions took part in the events of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
