Prospects for cooperation between Belarus, Azerbaijan outlined

BAKU, 5 May (BelTA) - Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov outlined promising areas of bilateral cooperation during his talks with Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin in Baku on 5 May, BelTA learned.

Thanks to the joint efforts of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Aleksandr Lukashenko, the Belarusian-Azerbaijani partnership has gained momentum in all areas and is comprehensive, Ali Asadov noted. “Mutual visits and summit meetings contribute to the effective interaction,” he added. “This was confirmed in 2024. Last year, Aleksandr Lukashenko visited Azerbaijan twice. During the official visit in May 2024, the parties signed a solid package of documents which we are working to implement now.”
Ali Asadov recalled that he also visited Belarus twice last year.

He emphasized that cooperation between the two countries was developing at a good pace and in many areas. “We pay special attention to diversifying mutual trade and building up investment interaction. The Belarus-Azerbaijan Business Forum will serve these purposes. On its sidelines we are set to sign a number of documents,” the Azerbaijani prime minister noted.
The prime minister called cooperation in manufacturing a key area of cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan. “The interaction between the Ganja Automobile Plant and major machine-building enterprises of Belarus deserves special attention. The project to establish a plant to assemble elevators has been successfully implemented. We are steadily developing partnership in agriculture. Belarusian products are in good demand in the Azerbaijani market,” he said.

There is a significant potential for ramping up mutual supplies of agricultural products, the Azerbaijani head of government believes. “We are ready to work in this areas,” he concluded.
