Preparations in progress for reconstruction of Belarusian M10 motorway

MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) – At a session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Belarusian Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov talked about the realization of a pilot project, which envisages the reconstruction and maintenance of a section of the M10 motorway, BelTA has learned. The M10 motorway begins at the Belarusian-Russian border (Selishche), goes through Gomel and ends in Kobrin. The section starting at the 109.9km mark and ending at the 195.15km mark will be reconstructed.

According to Aleksandr Chervyakov, the M10 motorway reconstruction project is a key one. Eight companies from Turkey, China, Russia, and the European Union were initially shortlisted. Four companies were left in the end, including three from Turkey and one from Russia. Consultations are being held with these companies in order to determine mutually acceptable terms.

Aleksandr Chervyakov said that ending the consultations by June 2022 is the idea. Consultations will end and final proposals for the tender will be accepted then. The final stage of the tender will be held to choose acceptable offers. June is the deadline, after which the tender will be held, the economy minister said.
