Potato harvest in Belarus is 22% complete

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) - As of 12 September, 8.137 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, with 22% of potato harvest and 44% of vegetable crop complete, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

Belarus cropped 7.022 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 1.115 million tonnes of rapeseed.

Farmers have so far harvested 256,000 tonnes of grain maize (12% of the target), 8.106 million tonnes of silage and green maize (33%), and 39,000 tonnes of buckwheat (80%).

A total of 19,000 tonnes of millet (87%), 116,000 tonnes of potatoes (22%), 36,000 tonnes of vegetables (44%), and 642,000 tonnes of sugar beet (14%) have been harvested.

Belarus has cut 60% of grasses.
