“In the run-up to the meeting, the governor and I discussed a number of the most pressing issues of bilateral cooperation. In many areas the work is very vibrant, but we need to step up in some others. Probably, the main result of our work this year is mutual trade. According to our data, in January-October of this year, the trade rose by 11% against the same period a year prior and exceeded $650 million in equivalent. Moreover, what is particularly characteristic, the trade is balanced, and the export-import flows practically match. This is a good dynamics, we need to ensure its further growth,” Roman Golovchenko said.
Traditionally, one of the main topics is industrial cooperation. “Thanks to the active and consistent position of the governor, we have stepped up the joint production of trams and electric buses at Nizhekotrans in Nizhny Novgorod. More than 60 trams and 30 electric buses MiNiN produced at this joint venture already hum along the routes of Nizhny Novgorod. Therefore, we are interested in the consistent development of this project, increasing its capacity and model range,” the prime minister said.
The joint production of elevators has been successfully operating at the production association NLM for many years. The enterprise reports good production volumes (about 2,500 units per year) and localization level of about 50%. “We need to make a little more effort to bring it to its full production capacity, which is 3,000 units,” the Belarusian head of government added.
