GRODNO, 17 February (BelTA) - Technical aspects are in great focus of the Grodno Azot upgrade project, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he toured the company on 17 February, BelTA has learned.
The prime minister was briefed on the progress in the investment project to build a nitrogen plant and the status of modernization of the existing production facilities. The goal to upgrade Grodno Azot was set in 2018.
"The construction of a new nitrogen plant is a very large-scale and expensive project, so technical aspects are in great focus. We have come a long way in this project and will finish it soon," said Roman Golovchenko.
Grodno Azot is simultaneously upgrading the existing production facilities, primarily to step up the output of urea and ammonia. The ultimate goal is to increase the output of fertilizers which are in high demand today.
