PM: Food security is on the top of global agenda

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) - Food security headlines the global agenda, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Minsk on 21 June, BelTA has learned.

"Food security tops the current global agenda. Our country has good indicators of food safety. Thanks to the common market in the EAEU we can solve the issues of food provision, including through mutual supplies of the products that are not produced in our countries," Roman Golovchenko noted.

At the same time, there are some issues. "They are primarily related to the still existing list of national restrictive measures on food commodities, which violates the principle of freedom of competition and freedom of movement of goods on the market. We will continue to work to remove the remaining issues," the prime minister said.
