PSKOV, 29 August (BelTA) – Belarus might ramp up the supplies of agricultural machinery to Pskov Oblast, Belarus' Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Pskov Oblast Governor Mikhail Vedernikov, BelTA has learned.

“Mutual supplies of raw materials and food products are growing. I am confident that we can increase agricultural machinery supplies taking into account the needs of Pskov Oblast farmers. We can offer our own loan products that will be affordable for farmers,” Roman Golovchenko said.

He also touched upon cooperation in the forestry industry. “We are neighbors, and we practically have a common forest. Forests cover more than 40% of Belarus and I believe this figure is pretty much the same in your region. We managed to get our bearings in time and find replacements for imported machines for the forest industry, like forwarders, harvesters, crushers, tractors, as well as equipment for treating forest plantations. I believe that we are moving in the right direction, and we should keep it up,” the prime minister noted.
